Main studies
Our purposes
It is important to understand the present earth accurately in order to make a plan effective for rapid changes of global environment in recent years. And so, on the basis of earth observations by using artificial satellites, we build computer systems, make software for data analysis, make applied analysis, and evaluate analysis data. We accumulate knowledge and technology which is applicable immediately to request of global environmental measurement by connecting seamlessly scientific subjects (climate changes and geophysics) to engineering subjects (algorithms and computational systems).
Research theme
Research theme which lets students realize practically earth environment observation in their graduation researches at the 7th and 8th semester for 4th grade students is getting much more practical in a graduate school. By carrying out both fundamental research and applied research, we think students can learn how to solve subjects practically in society.
Open laboratory
Global environmental observation research is developed by collaboration with a lot of researchers. In our laboratory, we emphasize the importance of collaboration with other universities and institutes inside and outside Japan and would like to manage our laboratory open outwards.
